510 points Hi everyone,
If you had an option between greencard or a residency --> Which one would you pick? and why?
510 points I'll definitely go with the greencard. Because I know dat with the greencard your chances more than quadruple going forward into the match and securing a residency spot. Look at the statistics for the residency match this year! It is becoming more and more difficult to find residency if you are on a visa. How many J-1 or H-1B visa spots are available? and the competition for these spots is fierce, cos the hospitals/programs usually want to take Immigrant students that have rotated through their programs even more so than graduates who come from foreign schools and just take the steps I,II,III here and ace it. At that point, u begin to ask urself, does it really matter if I have a 99, and I am on a visa. Let's face it; Given that option of becoming a permanent resident, I would jump at it cos I know that from there, I can apply for the match knowing dat at the very least, I would be given the same consideration as the rest of the crowd.
510 points of coarse the greencard , it will open more chances for u and easier to get a residency
510 points green card !!! Less hassle for the program since they don't have to worry about you getting denied and less paper work for them. Also some programs don't even sponsor visas so that allows a green card holder access to more residency spots.
510 points question is how to get this choice
510 points Get sponsored by a relative. Check the US gov website for further details
510 points I would like to choose green card, because the paper work is less and residency with security and legally.Green card is fully approved by U.S government. So,it's safe and secure.
