taxes for J1 visa holders
We are on a J1 visa and the university is telling us that after one year of residency we have to start paying social security out of our paycheck. Is this true? We are going back after residency and will never use this social security, so why pay for something we will not use.
Is this the rule for J1? I know that citizens, Gc holders and H1 have to pay higher taxes than us..but J1 holders get lesser tax cuts usually just because they are exchange visitors..Please advice on this issue someone. thanks |

For J1 Visa Taxes, Visit www.VisaTaxes.com
Hi
In my university, they recommended us to do our Taxes at www.VisaTaxes.com They specialize in Tax Preparation for all Visa holders in US. I believe they also have a forum, I believe for J1 Visa Taxes it is; forum.visataxes.com - Save Taxes on H1B,OPT,F1 and other Visas Hope this helps.
