I'm originally from Toronto but I'll be doing my residency in Kentucky on a J1 Visa. I'm looking into apartments to rent and unfortunately all of them require my J1 Visa to be fully processed before I can sign a lease. Well, I'll only have my J1 completed in June and I need to sign the lease in April (only time I have off to get down to KY) so does anyone have any advice for my situation? I'm sure SOMEONE out there is in the same predicament...There must be someway to prove that I'll have my J1 Visa by the time I start residency... |

Never been in the same situation but have you considered living temporarily in a place that doesn't require a fully-processed visa until you have your visa ready? I'm sure you can find such places out there. You can try sharing with roommates, sublets and campus housing.
hope this helps. |
