As far as I can remember, you will need a photocopy of your medical diploma, transcript of records, ECFMG certificate, updated CV, a copy of the contract from the hospital where you had matched, a photocopy of your I-94, pages of your passport, and a physician-in-training license, or similar to this. Of course you should have passed the step 3 -- you will need to provide proof of this.
I hired a lawyer to file the I-129 for me, and he contacted the PD of the program to provide additional documents, and also the medical board where the training program was located. Last edited by mogirl; 02-21-2007 at 03:41 PM. |

I-94 is the nonimmigrant arrival-departure document/card issued at the port of entry, and I-129 is the Petition for a nonimmigrant worker. Most training hospitals are non-profit, and either University-based, or affiliated with a medical school/university, so the H1B is usually not counted against the cap. Just be prepared to shoulder the cost of processing your H1B visa -- I tell you though that it is worth it! Just consider it as an investment on your future here in the US.
