Hello,
I am planning on transferring to IAU after I pass my step I. How long is the wait time between clinicals? Also, will I need to repeat semester 5 or will I be able to go straight into clinicals? (This is a question for administration). Thanks so much for your help. The school I am presently does have ridiculous wait times, so I'm looking into alternate options. Thanks!

If you have already passed USMLE Step 1 then you will NOT have to complete 5th semester but should be able to start directly into 6th semester clinical rotations. You will need to submit all the necessary documents for transfer students, you can find a list of these on our website. There is currently no wait time between rotations. As long as you are accepted and can provide documentation of passing Step 1 then you can begin immediately. Please visit our website to apply online. Can you tell me which states I may do my clinicals at? Also, may I be able to do all of them in one location? I am planning on taking my Step I no later than April 2011. When should I start my application? Thanks!
Currently we have rotations available in Chicago, Atlanta, Baltimore, Baton Rouge, Shrevport, Washington, Seattle, Denver and NY. Depending on your requirements, you may be able to do all your rotations in one place. You should contact the Clinical Sciences Department and find out more about your options.
It is better to apply for transfer after passing Step 1 so that all your basic science credits can transfer over, regardless of what school you attended in the past. Feel free to email me if you have more questions.
