Given the premise that you did do extensive research, then, I wonder what factor(s) most heavily swayed you to attend school in Hungary.
Almost all of the above, plus a touch of naivete. I didn't know everything before I went. Had I known what I know now, I probably would have decided in favor of a DO school or sucked up the loans at SGU.

Hey Zut

It seems you are on the right path with taking under-grads and planning ahead. Yes, like Miklos said, everyone coming here later wishes they had known more and would have chosen another path that perhaps looked unfeasible in the past. That is a very important point to consider. MONEY was my limiting factor-- but I could have done better and taken up loans and stuff.
Anyways, let me ask you.... given your choices now, how would you rank what you eventually choose according to priority? What would be your list of options in order-where would be first and where would be last? And why? It will be interesting to see from all the time you spend here scanning for info.

Best of luck... oh, and are you gonna be done soon with Undergrads?

MSH

Thanks, I hope I'm on the right path. Criteria that are most important to me (for foreign schools) are: reputation & stability, which is a pretty broad category that encompasses a lot, clinical rotations in the United States, a conducive learning environment, and very low on the list is price (almost not a factor at all; debt is something we all must accept).

I hope so!

Another year and a half if I play my cards right.

I don't know exactly what you are advising. You have probably forgotten to mention that that program is not fair and none of them are. Faculties are divided over personal issues. And perhaps some students have to pay heafty simply because one of the cleaning lady got pissed and entire town is complaining about some non sense.

Which school did you attend in Hungary for how many years?
Are you in another med school now? If you left early was it all lost time?

Stay away from hungerian schools.

All subjects except chemistry is oral.
Its unfair, everything depends to your examinator. You can be lucky or unlucky.
But for a 6 year program, be sure you will be unlucky a few times...

Most students in hungary have to pass their 6 years in 7-8-9 years...
