Minimum credit score needed for CanHelp (no cosigner)?

    Advertisements

Does anyone know what the minimum score is offhand? No way I can get a cosigner, so I need to know where my score has to be.

    Thanks!

Hmm, that seems low. I recall reading the score here a while ago and knowing mine (644) wasn't high enough. That was more recent than one year ago, however.

    Anyone else?

I am pretty sure the score is at about 650 for the cutoff.

    how about with the cosigner?

we are from canada. I have good credits (as good of a credit as a student can have) but my husband doesn't. we're both applying for med school. what's the solution? if there's a cosigner (his mom) does this solve the problem?

650 is the magic number for both the signer and the cosigner.

I should have been clearer. if the applicant does not have the 650 then the 650 of the co-signer will usually be just fine.

One thing to remember about a co-signer is that they are, in essence, the borrower, because their credit report shows the loan as if it were theirs.
