this packing and moveing is getting old.

I'm sorry but I need to vent. This life of moving around a few times a year is just driving me nuts! We go through all the stress and worry about finding a place to live and getting settled in, and then a few month later BAM it's time to pack up and find a new place to live. GRRRRRRRR! I can't wait for this to be over. I knew we are getting the best sites, but it's HELL logistically. This is the second Christmas that I am packing up and moving over 1,700 miles!!! insanity.... we are just insane.... lol

my wife and i moved 4 times for clinical rotations. and we have a dog too (mini dauchshund), which complicates things too. we lived out of our little 1990 toyota corolla, and travelled many a mile across the US in that thing. we always had to find furnished housing, because whatever we could fit in that car is all we could bring. crazy times, i'm glad it's over with.

can't wait to settle down for the residency years. at least we'll be in one place.

Sorry to hear about your situation. Everything is harder to deal with at Christmas. Were you unable to do your rotations at a clinical center?

Not only is it frustrating but it can get very expensive!

We had the option to do that, but decided against it because I thought the locations sucked. There are some upsides so choosing to move around for clinicals.... better sites, new and different clinical experiences, and I've seen so many wonderful parts of the US that I'd never seen before! Many many up sides to it. BUT this week when I'm packing and facing a 1,500 mile drive in the middle of winter trying to figure out what to do with all this excess **** around the house.... it's just annoying! Thanks for letting me vent.
