Any one with family and kids in St Statia?
Three things worry me to death
1]Is Statia on the hurricane path? 2]Is their competent medical help on the island to treat 2 year olds? 3]Can people be hired for baby sitting? We are a husband-wife team , both are students. |

You should also try to find out if there is a group of spouses on the island. I have known single students with children and professors with small children (on another island) make the use of spouses of students on the island for childcare. This would allow you to have someone with a similar schedule as you (and your wife), and perhaps less cultural issues to deal with as well. And if you can't find just one spouse willing to do the job, look for a couple women that could trade off days and hours. Good luck to you and let us know how it turns out!!!
