transfer to US medical school

hi all
i am asian medical student , i have green card ,good USMLE STEP 1 score but no mcat or prereq courses they need for freshman admission
i'd like to know is there any chanse for me to transfer to US medical school?

...is there any info going around on University of Perpetual @ Laguna?

As someone who took up pre-med in U.S, I've been told to stay away from schools that have an organ-systems based curriculum (like DLSU-HSI at Cavite), since they would assume that most students already have a solid background in the basic medical sciences.

clinical rotations in the US

so ive been trying to open up more options of schools to apply to in the philippines (even though my heart is set on st.lukes). i really would appreciate any current students or former graduates to let me know of any other school programs in which offer clinical rotations in the US, besides fatima as i keep seeing repeatedly on threads :) from what i hear its a must to do clinicals in the US to get into residency programs here, or is it?

Postgraduate medical program in China

first of all i want to start this thread because other threads mostly discuss about undergraduate medical program in China, now how about postgraduate?? now i'm in 5th year and doing clinical internship and by next year i will graduate from my univ. so any of you have a same situation like me or is there any MD doctor here to give me some advice which university that have medical english based program for MD program or (if there is not) that allow international students to get post graduate clinical practice and not just some research. because i learn from some people they just got research and not allow to do clinical >.<

btw i'm indonesian (still undergraduate at one of china medical university) and want to continue postgraduate study in china

Hi! I am a Filipino who just came back from the states to study medicine in Manila.
I just heard from my aunt about a mock NMAT test this Saturday, Nov. 14 at St. Luke's. Go to the St. Luke's college of medicine website for more details. Click on their news and events area. Sorry I couldn't post a link since this is my first posting and valuemd wouldn't let me.

It's some sort of NMAT challenge and you need three people to register.
So, I need two more people to come with me. I'm taking the NMAT in December. It should be good practice and you never know, we might win an IPOD. It's I think P300 per group of three people, so P100 per person.

I am looking for affordable medical school in Philippines.

I have heard that sometimes professors explain in Tagalog in order to make students understand the lesson easily. And the students prefer to talk in Tagalog all the time.

Are there any real English environment med schools with low tuition fee? Plz share ur experience.:D

Hey everyone,

I'm extremely serious in attending Med School in the Philippines 2011. I was leaning more towards of becoming a physical therapist for years during my undergrad in California but after a lot of volunteer work and foreign clinics i helped, i've decided that i want to do more in the field and that is be a doctor. Thing is that my grades are ridiculously low to even consider applying to med school here in the US so i've decided to go back to my homeland and work there for a bit after as well. I was born in the Philippines but basically was born an American since my parents were already citizens here. I missed the deadline to apply for the NMAT so I have a whole year off to debate which schools to apply to and to study of course :)

So my questions are:

1. ill be graduating this spring with a B.S. Kinesiology Exercise Science and my GPA will be around a 3.1 is that too low for med schools such as De la Salle, St.Lukes, and UST?

2. What science requirements do they usually require because i have finished the whole year sequences of physics, and general chem, anat/physio, and biology. is that enough?

3. Is it true that they will overlook my GPA and classes since im from the US and they are not equivalent.

4. Do you guys know any Fil-Ams that have gotten in with low grades and somewhat mediocre NMAT scores?

hi. my name is ehsan . i want to become a doctor. i have taken 2 times mcat ( entry test ) in pakistan but i dont get addmsion due to few points.if any one knows about any scholarships 4 mbbs in any country of the world plz tell me. bcoz i cant imagine my life with becoming a doctor.iam belonging 4rmpoor family so i cant afford private medical colleges of paksitan . aopr to study by paying dollars in chian or any other country .
right now i am doing PHARM-D BUT IAM NOT HAPPY WITH IT. IAM BEOMING MENTALY SICK AND LOOSING MY CONFIDENCE PLZ HELP ME

Going to look at Cebu medical schools??

After a long time thinking about this I am going to Cebu for the entire month of December to 1. Visit medical schools and 2. Try to get a sense of if I can thrive in Cebu long term which I am quite sure of already.

So, that being the case I am posting to ask anyone on here the favor of touring me through their medical school? CIM CDU SWU Those are the only ones Im really interested in and I intend to see them all.

Would any of you (kardiomegly, locutusofburg, etc.) be willing to meet me for coffee or even better find a way to let me sit in on a class with u? I will find a way to repay u the favor.

Im an American guy 30 years old if that matters at all.
