Student semester pass rates?

I am a student at AUA currently and am curious about St. Matthews student semester pass rates. At AUA:

Med 1 started with: 120
Med 2(those from Med 1 consecutively): 80
Med 3(those from Med 2 consecutively): 55
Med 4(those from Med 3 consecutively): 50

I am a student at AUA currently and am curious about St. Matthews student semester pass rates. At AUA:
Med 4(those from Med 3 consecutively): 50

Out of the original 120 ABOUT 50 make it to 5th semester without any delays or failures.

Also at AUA, if you fail a class, the following semester you must retake that failed class and add only ONE class, thus potentially prolonging your stay much more. If you fail a class twice, you are dismissed.

If all goes well and passed on the first attempts, you make it off the island in 16 months.

My question is, how many students make it consecutively to 5th semester AND what is the policy on failed classes?

Thanks

I am not here to put any programs down or give biased opinions, I just need some advice from those who have transferred and how they have progressed since leaving SMU. I am at the point that I cannot wait around and hope that SMU will find loans. They just emailed the school recently saying they have no good news with loans for Spring 2010!!! So basically 2 more semesters with no money, and leaning everything on davenport money to finance everything. In addition, SMU has been losing clinical sites, and it seems they do not have any intention to expand the campus. I know there are students who can self pay when they start SMU, but how can you realistically depend on self pay and at what point should a student be concerned and consider transferring to Ross, AUC etc. I am currently a 5th semester student, and have been getting help from my parents, but I do not expect them to help me pay 6 more semesters worth. So I need to make a big decision and consider looking outside the box. SMU has great faculty that teach well and really care, but the administration is corrupt. The money going in doesn’t seem to be spent on the school and the students. Since I started 1st semester, I haven’t seen one improvement on campus, or announcements of clinical sites added. The ICM in 5th semester is very mediocre and not worth the money spent in tuition. And what I don’t understand is, if SMU is struggling for loans, why not reduce the tuition to $5000 to help the students out. The amount they are charging is not what you get out of it. But despite these shortcomings, I am fortunate SMU helped me start my medical education and gave me this opportunity, but when should you make the better decision, open your eyes, and realize the ship is sinking???

I was potentially going to open my own business a while back and funding has become nearly non-existent these days. When I was looking for funding for school and saw that you could potentially get $12k a semester through davenport I immediately thought "Hey, I could use that as a small business loan". Is that technically legal? It doesn't seem any worse than using the refund to pay for medical school tuition. I would assume the refund could be used for anything?
