Hey everyone. I was wondering if anyone knew what hospital would be best in the SGU network to do your medicine Sub-I to get a good LOR if you work hard and not slack off. I ask because at the current hospital Im at for my cores I know that the IM Sub-I elective is extremely chill and the attendings here usually just write a "standard" LOR for everyone (this is what I've heard from the people I have talked to). Any help would be appreciated. Can you please explain what the IM or Peds requirements are for 4th year? From the SGU website it states:

Medicine Sub-Internship: 4 weeks
Pediatric Elective or Sub-Internship: 4 weeks

So does that mean we can do general IM and General Pediatrics as our requirements? Or does it have to be a specialty in Medicine or Pediatrics?

Can someone who's doing/done rotations at the Monmouth medical center share their experience/thoughts please? I'm considering it as a choice, but I want to take a few things into consideration first.

How safe is the area? Is it easy to find housing?
How is the teaching at this hospital?
How easy is it to get around without a car?
How are the rotations here? Where do you go for psych and ATYR?

hey guys,
i'm starting my psych rotation at manhattan psych center soon but i don't know anything about the place. i read in one of the posts that the hours are pretty good. do they have parking facilities for students? also do you know if they have an orientation program and what sort of paperwork is involved, clearance, drug tests etc. i'd appreciate any information that you can give me.

So, I've been interested in doing 3rd year at St. John in Michigan. Today they finally issued a preliminary list of available hospitals for those of us that will be starting clinicals in May.

I know that St. John doesn't offer psych. On the hospital list, Providence Hospital and Medical Center is listed as the place for psych for the St. John folk. Does anyone have any info on this? I went to the Providence website and all I saw listed for psych under 'medical ed' was a sub-I elective...
