The dominican republic has dental schools. Try University Central del Este in San Pedro de Marcoris. However, check with the dental boards in US to see if you can come back and practice dentistry. There are a lot of requirements that US dental students must complete in dental school before they get their degre.
It is a lot easier for doctors from international medical schools to come to the us than dental schools. |

I understand
I did posted something similar pretty much around 2 years ago, can't remember if it was in these forums or SDN. I understand your feeling. Dentistry is a totally different breed than MD in the United States. It is much esier for a IMG to obtain licensure in the U.S. than an IDG or FDG. Normally you are required to re-do anything from 2 to 3 years depending on the program and you have to pay for it. Optometry is even worse.

Iam planning to go to UNIBE on Sep 2007 and I will register in the dental program. I think that it will be easier for someone who already have all the pre-med requirements to get in to the program. Also, I think that before anybody take the decision to study abroad, they should familiariaze with the licensure requirements of the different State uf USA.
