510 points Has anyone already got their secondary school education validated as per the instructions in the document "Validation of foreign diplomas.doc" from the website? I'm just getting all the documents together now and then I know I have to get an Apostille and have them translated.
Does anyone know whether you have to present these documents for validstion in person or whether you can post them or use a proxy?
Also, do I need to have these documents validated soon or can I do it when I go to Brno in September to enrol?
515 points I did that in April. It was incredibly optimistic of me, seeing as I had not even sat the exams then lol. I used these people(Apostille Services | Apostilles for Students) they're in the UK though so if you're in the Republic of Ireland, you should probably get it done by a law firm from there, instead of a UK firm. I had them bind all my certificates(photocopies) together under one apostille. The certificates were GCSEs and A-Levels(if you're still doing your A-Levels, you have to wait until you get your certificates in August). You should give them photocopies instead of originals(and they will advise you to), because the certificates are altered/"damaged", with the stamp and the binding. I paid £90 for the bulk apostille and £10 for recorded delivery. You can get it translated when you get to Brno before the enrolment on the 11th of september, or you can find any translators around where you live to translate it for you. I believe(from the letter of admission), that they will ask to see all of this on enrolment day, which is the 11th(someone please correct me if i'm wrong). I think you are better off doing it in the country where your certificates are from. If you have UK certificates, get them validated in the UK. If you have Czech certificates, get them validated in Czech Republic and so on.
510 points Hi guys, I was also looking at the campus residential area as possible alternative to halls accomodation. Is it near the faculty of medicine though? From what i understand it is near the general university campus, but not near the medicine faculty where the medics lectures are held (around 30 mins away according to google maps)? I may be wrong, if someone could clarify this for me, it would be much appreciated! cheers
510 points Hey guys,
I got accepted to Masaryk University and I decided to enroll in this school. Who else is coming in September? I would like to at least somewhat know my new classmates. Where are you from? Why did you choose MU? And where do you see yourself after getting your MD? I am from Slovakia. I spent my last 2 years in the US and before I was there for a year of high school too. In order to be competitive and flexible I intend to pass USML at some point. I am looking forward to hear from anyone going to Masaryk!

510 points Hey buddy,
I was considering those apartments too. If you are still interested in renting one of those I am up for it. I am male from Slovakia, but lived 3 years in the US (went to school there). If you think it might be a good idea. We can get in touch on Skype or so and see what are the options.
All the best,
Adam

510 points I've decided not to stay in the CRA or the halls. I'm going to rent an apartment so I don't have to share a room. I'm looking for someone to share the apartment with. I'm thinking of spending 15000 czk monthly on the apartment, including utilities or perhaps a little more if necessary. This would be for a 2 bedroom apartment so that would be split 2 ways. 7500 czk each. I'm male. Any takers?
