Smile Charles First Faculty PE course?

hi guys, i just got through Charles First Faculty Entrance exam and will be attending the college in October. I had a question for students attending the 1st faculty. Regarding the PE class in the 1st, is there some kind of fee to be paid say if i opted for skiing in the winter? does the fee differ based on the sports u choose?

Secondly could any studnt give me some feedback about the university as to the faculty, course work, social life, n stuff like that? How is biohphysics, histology and embryology? is it quite tough to pass these classes (assuming that you've tried you best in covering the material prescribed)?

Thanks a lot!!!

Well, exams are oral, which would scare the hell out of an American like me who is quite content with multiple-choice exams. Also, Charles is supposed to have a rough first couple of years so as to weed-out those who shouldn't be there. Eastern European schools take lots of students in, but not all make it out!

Fifth pathway, I believe, means your school has to be affiliated with NYMC. Charles isn't, to my knowledge.

Also, as another requirement, you need 2 semesters of general bio, general chem, organic chemistry, physics, english, and an MCAT score to qualify.

From the website:
  • Completed an accredited American college or university, undergraduate or premedical, with work of a quality acceptable for matriculation in a U.S. medical school.
  • Studied and completed all the formal requirements of the foreign medical school except internship and social service.
  • Academic records acceptable to New York Medical College and its affiliated hospitals.
  • Obtained a passing score on the medical examiners Step 1 board examination, currently the U.S.M.L.E. exam.
  • Physicians with their MD degree are not eligible for the Fifth Pathway Program but are eligible for our year of supervised clinical training.
In addition, New York Medical College requires applicants to meet the following requirements:
  • Students must be a citizen, resident alien, or Canadian Citizen with a student visa.
  • Fifth Pathway Program must be started within five (5) years after successful completion of medical school studies.
Most kids at these schools didn't do their undergrad education here in the States, so they would be ineligible for the 5th Pathway from the get-go.

thanks,

thanks for all the good info. to my knowladge Fifth pathway is for all the citizen and resident alien of the US who go to any six year med. schools out side the US. so it can be any six years medical school, now if Charls won't accept your final year of rotation in the US then it is a different story.

As you might know, there are three schools here in the US that offer such a program, two in NY and one in Puerto Rico which has MCAT and GPA requirment.

now what i am looking for is to find out if NY schools have any sort of GPA or MCAT requirments. do you happen to have any sort of info?
thanks,
Arash M.

Smile hey guyz...

wassup guyz...yes i am leavin from the US (washington d.c)....and i sure am excited about going to prague coz some of my friends from Charles 1st fac. say its an awesme place 2 be in...bt one gets hrribly homesick after a while...(atleast if you're from america...)

well abt the exam...i took it in prague and it was a multiple choice (and i mean MUTIPLE choice...there can be more than 1 answer right)....the exam was quite easy considering that I did the IB program in high school bt the dean did tell me that they usually dont admit high-school grads from american high schools as they dont have adequate knowledge which is required for the entrance (ie. Phys, Chem, Bio-coll level)....i guess i got lucky

anyone else joinin me this yr? i'm way to excited but i dont have a reason to be (coz i've heard the tough part is stayin in...as they weed out a lot of students by the end of the first 2 yrs...)
