Charles University Questions

What is the tuition for Chech nationals?

What is the tuition for US citizens?

Why would such an old school teaching in Chech create a medical degree program in the English language?

answers

tuition is free in the czech language course, regardless of nationality.

tuition in the english course is $10,500, again regardless of nationality. we do have czechs and slovaks paying to get into the english course, as it is the same content with a different language and it is a bit easier to get into.

they started because they needed the money. the money the government pays is nowhere near enough to keep the university running or make any improvements. the money we bring to the table has rebuilt several buildings, pays for profs salaries, etc...

i am pretty sure i answered this before when you asked on a different thread, but if you need any other info i am happy to help

i think...

you would have to ask california for the real answer. i would guess that it was an easier process because the english program is identical to the czech program (with the exception of language of instruction) and that they simply reviewed the paperwork to make sure that everything was in order. the czech program has always been ok in cali, and i am guessing that they simply wanted to see that the finances were in order, verify that we had good faculty, etc...i think that the programs that are exact copies of already approved native-language programs will not have too much trouble. maybe more issues for programs using a different curriculum, like the 4-year programs, but maybe not even then.

i am not too surprised, as charles is a pretty well know university worldwide, and has excellent facilities. i think the site visits are more important with newer schools that may have questionable or non-existent facilities.
