Thread: Shadowing in a South American Hospital

Hello,

I am a British Medical student due to start my studies next September and have decided that before I start my studies I would like to do a bit of travelling for 3 months starting in June. As i want to base my career around projects abroad I would like to do one weeks shadowing in a Hospital or University hospital near Rio de Janeiro or Sao Paolo as this is where I intend to fly to. I would have liked to have volunteered however cannot afford the prices such agencies are asking. Does anyone have any advice on how I should go about organising something like this? Although I am learning my Spanish is very basic. Any advice would be much appreciated,

I don't know about the rest as I've never been to S. America, but I will warn you that they speak Portuguese in Brazil, not Spanish, so you may want to reconsider your destination or get a how to speak portuguese book.
