Any one may write anything against any one in this forum. But those who join a "New Medical School" especially in the Caribbean, before they make
any financial commitment should write to the following: imed@faimer.org this is the subsidiary of ECFMG that lists medical schools all over the world and thus offers elligibility to the enlisted students to appear in USMLE tests. Canadian system also follows this listing. CMU is not listed with imed hence its students, if any are not-at this point of time- elligible to sit for USMLE. At the time of posting, IMED informs that they have not received any request from the Government of Curacao and / or Netherlands Antilles to enlist CMU and they are not even aware of its existence. It is up to the current students (if any) and future applicants to verify and draw conclusion. Let it be known that registration with chamber of commerce of a given island (required for grocery stores) does not qualify any entity to award medical degree or enlisted students to appear in qualifying examinations.

ut oh

I am having flashbacks to when I was a kid and played the old video games jumpman and jumpman jr. If you didn't clear the board in the time limit, the entire board would crash to the ground in front of your eyes.

Caveat Emptor. If the school is not listed with IMED, and course work done prior to the date of listing is null and void. Is there any way it can be confirmed that the school is listed?

sjsmstudent seems concerned about the IMED listing of CMU . He is worried about the scenario of rapid transfer of sjsm students to CMU.sjsmstudent, the School official of sjsm may take care of sjsm students and improve the building structure, come out of the roadside restaurent, improve other facilities(toilet papers!!!) and stop ficticious inspection team to impress sjsm students, pay government tax in time, pay teachers salaries etc.
You are enlisted, doesn't mean it is permanent. No unnecessary anxiety, worries, and added stress -------.
Let CMU students and upcoming large batch of transfer students stay cool.I enquired and heard IMED enlistment reports are coming soon.We from other schools are also waiting to get the news soon and then----.Take care.
Regards.

Recently, it seems like offshore medical schools are popping up like .COMs. The funny thing is that there are only so many islands. After that, multiple offshore medical schools per island is going to start "island wars of medical schools."

English is not your primary language, is it? Even if your school allowed you to take the USMLE and practice in the US, which it doesn't, you would have a difficult time communicating as a physician.

I'm not gonna ask them to state their reason for transferring. it's their own business - but I will say this - don't be surprised when others questions this - providing that a school official is waving this around as a 'selling point' for the school.

you can call me a hater if you want - I'm just pointing out something that I find VERY suspicious.
I find it difficult to believe that SGU students would transfer to a school whose students cannot presently (maybe never) sit for USMLE exams.
