CMU rocks
I can’t believe CMU as a very new school is getting so much attention on ValueMD. The St. James, Xavier, All Saints, IAU, IUHS, Spartan, Eustatius, Windsor, UNIBE, Theresa, Martinus have been already beaten by the number of viewings /currently 16/.
I have heard from my fellows at St. James, who visited the campus last weekend that the campus facilities on Curacao are 2nd or 3rd largest among the caribbean schools. This school is gonna be a monster soon. Can current CMU students describe the campus, classrooms, dorms, etc? I coudnt transfer from St. James for May, since it was kinda late but I see you guys in September along with others from our school. Get ready for a big hit in September. Aloha |

Actually, a St. James student that went there already came back to St. James. I've heard that the instruction at CMU is a little shakey. For example, professors come and go, and I heard (check me on this) that the professors have no contract so they have no time obligation during which to teach (e.g. they could leave mid semester). Again, I'm not 100% sure about this, but I would like it adressed by a school official. Last edited by MD 2 B; 05-25-2007 at 06:23 PM. |

I think transfers happen to get a fresh start and sometimes people that do poor at one school do much better at another, I've seen it.
CMU is just beginning we need to give it time to evolve, if everything turns out the way I was told then it could be a very good school. |

Transfer to New School
Those who are about to fall into the trap of propaganda from a new
medical school and plan to transfer should carefully review the following facts. Let it be known that Netherlands Antilles Court has issued a final and conclusive ruling, in response to numerous appeals from Xavier lawyer, that a student who transfers from one school to another, located within the NA territory, are not entitled to transcript until they pay compensation to the school they are transferring from. Prospective transferees better know that if they have spent even one semester with a school, they must submit original transcript from that school during the period of residency application and, more important, during application for state licensing. In order to make quick bucks, a desperate new school will naturally fabricate stories to grab your money, but before falling into this trap you better think many times. No one knows this better than those who transferred from SJSM to Xavier. |

However, it would be nice if everyone would stop the dissing on these boards or post things of real substance. As for sjsm, the library is fine, that rumor is simply not true. As for CMU and teaching, It is the first week of classes, how can anyone say the profs come and go? I hate to admit this, but these boards should have a delay for mods to review things. |

In case there are prospective applicants to this "Medical School" should first note few points based on their website cmumed.org. There are series of names of faculty members mostly of Indian origin. Pick out one faculty name (except Exec.Dean) and try to find their residence or work permit in Curacao. Rest Assured those are fictitious names. Next see the long list of open house days- complete with dates and names of cities and hotels. Call one of the hotels to confirm the resrvation of open house. Those are also fictitious. See the grandiose names of rotation sites. Ask for one contract with a hospital. Those are invariably fictitious. This website is likely to display all pomps and granger since those involved are computer technitians. The author with a Polish name was deceptively drawing unemployment benefit until last month and the accomplice the exec. Dean is an absconded criminal from India. In three weeks these runaways have set up something which is said to be comaparable to Harvard. With such talent of deception these elements should be building another United Nations in a few months. Good for Curacao. But beware new applicants.

You know, as I read your posts and checked your old ones, I am developing a strong sense that you are not really a student as you claim to be in your user id. As such, I am wondering about the amount of 'fiction' going on. |
