Look back at the 2003 CaRMS Match
This Article:
http://www.cmaj.ca/cgi/content/full/168/9/1119 Mentions that: "Of the 659 IMGs in Canada registered for the second iteration of the CaRMS 2002 match, 496 (75.3%) submitted a rank order list for training positions left vacant from the first iteration . . ." So basically what that means is that 659 IMG's applied, but only 496 of them were able to get atleast one interview, making them eligible to submit a rank order list In 2002, only 83 got a residency. SO OVERALL it's: 83/659 = 12 % TWELVE PERCENT!!! 12% chance of getting a crap 2 yr FP spot in rural labrador. . . In 2003, CaRMS lists at: http://www.carms.ca/stats/stats2003.htm that 625 submitted a rank order list, but. . . the total number of IMG's that applied was over 800 so in 2003, since only 67 matched, the actual match rate for IMG's is approx --> 67/800 = 8 % Eight Percent. |
