Whay it the rate for a canada IMG to match a US residency?

I am a canada PR who was already discouraged to go MCCEE way and wanna take USMLE now. But someone told me even this way is not very easy unless you have an US PR ID. Is someone who can tell me about what is the rate for a canada IMG who passed USMLE to be matched residency in US?

Unfortunately because of 3500 Canadian Citizens studying medicine abroad doing electives and Cores in US and Canada the IMG match for US and Canada is very hard if you dont have LOR's from clinical rotations. Is more about Culture, knowing the system and connection. But dont get discouraged. you can always fit in somewhere

Hi Soniaa, thank you for your reply. I am now working for a FRCP in Canada but in research. I also spend a little time in clinic, but not kind of rotation. Is that better for me to apply? I found many people they have just graduate from international medical school and they passed the USMLE then got matched, I don't think they have LOR's.

Umm....all applicants that apply for the US or Canadian match HAVE to have LORs in order to be eligible for an interview...actually...in order to even have their application reviewed. So all recent graduates (IMGs or otherwise) who matched most definitely had LORs...probably kick*** LORs. You should visit carms dot ca and review the requirements for applications for programs you're interested in.
