Is the KAPLIN course worth taking?
Greetings,
I'm a Canadian engineering student who will be applying to med school in the fall. I have not written my MCAT's and was planning on taking the Kaplin course to prepare. It's been a while since I took any chemistry, biology etc. and was hoping that this would prepare me. The course costs $1300 and involves many classroom hours over a four month peroid. Might I be better off just buying the book and teaching myself or is the course beneficial enough to take? Thanks |

I was in the same boat as you back in 1998
I did take the Kaplan course. It's very good, but it totally depends on who you get as a teacher. I had two teachers. The first guy was this conceited Indian huy who thought he was God's gift to medical school, and just spent most of the time bragging about his acceptance into U of T. The second teacher was a white guy who was excellent. I learned so much from him and he was really smart. The Books are the best. Yes you can definitely just buy those books and teach yourself. Good Luck!! |
