hi
hello everyone.
this is a very helpful website for us IMG's and im thankful to thoes who made it and thankful to thoes who help others with information.. well i am an IMG also well i havent graduated from my medical school yet but still want to know what is going on, on the situation of IMG's in Canada.. i have been regualely checking up on the CMC website and it states that the MCCEE will be offered in the computer format as of 2008.. now my quesiton is that is it a good thing? well from one point of view it seems good because now many countries will be offering the exam and not only the selected countries which were previously offering the written form of it. but will this also mean that more IMG spots will open in Canada since alot more people will have access to the exams? thank you |

I think it's a good thing that the exam is now easier to take (and available more often). However, this will have no impact on how many residency spots are available for IMGs. Residency spots are a function of funding and available infrastructure, not how many applicants there are. There are already too many applicants for the available spots.
