Coming back to Ontario via Quebec?

Hi everyone,

I'm still new at this and I'm trying to figure out if it's possible to come back to Ontario after doing a residency in Quebec. Now from my understanding, Canadian IMG's enter the 1st iteration on Carms in Quebec and there is no ROS (return of service).

My question is: can an IMG come back to Ontario to practice medicine after doing their residency in Quebec? If so, what are the requirements to become licensed in Ontario?

I think you can, but keep in mind to write the LMCC exam part 1 and 2 (the national board exam) and not only the Quebec exam after you finish the residency. your best bet to know all those information would be to check out the OMA website for all these information, and even call them! they are quite friendly!
cheers,

Hi! I'm from Montreal, and I wonder where did you get this info... this is very new and exciting for me as I observe the 'College des Medecins' website but did not see that.

thanks!

Hi, check out the Carms website (CaRMS - (R-1) - Eligibility - Provincial Restrictions). You'll find info on which provinces require an ROS and which ones do not.
Good luck!
