slight deviation: if one has finished US residency, then can one try for canadian licenses for the years they go back?? or is that impossible?
Also, what about a J-1 waiver?? can we not get one as canadians??

Canadians can and do and will continue to come back to canada. Check out the open letter to canadians on the saba forum. More and more canadians will make the trek back to Canada.
