Without doing any exam, your chances are zero.

Read this about a german physician

There is a very good chance to enter residency in Quebec.
Pros:
- Quebec IMGs have access to the first iteration of Carms; if they didn't match, they still have access to the second iteration;
- IMGs from other provinces are not allowed to compete for residency positions in Quebec;
- the residency spots for Quebec IMGs are "reserved" ; Canadian or US graduates cannot compete for those positions (they are not even published actually, but from my experience the competition is around 3 IMGs for each spot in Family Medicine, much smaller than the competition in the second Carms iteration);

Cons:
- you have to be a Quebec resident and to fulfill the requirements of funding of the Education Ministry of Quebec;
- you have to be cleared for inscription at the first Carms iteration by the College des Medecins du Quebec; this means that you have to pass a French exam in addition to the MCC exams or the CMQ exams;

Overall, chances are more and better in Quebec than in any other province.
I came to Canada less than a year ago having already passed all MCC exams before landing and I am now matched at McGill Montreal Family Medicine.
I will never regret I chose Quebec over other provinces (actually I knew in the first place why I settled in Quebec)

Good luck everybody at the second iteration!
Wow! Congrats!

That's very good news. Do you have stats concerning which positions those IMG's got?

Which school did you attend?

I got all the numbers from the Carms site, but you have to sift through the numbers there to find what's important.
In Quebec there were a bit over 100 applicants (103 if I remember correctly).

You have to take at least the EE exam before you can do anything else. As for the other exams, you will have to take them at a later time in order to get your full license.

Most of them got into FM. It's virtually impossible to get into a specialty as an IMG (except for lab and the likes)
I graduated in Romania.

Katy, I don't have any of my past exams, especially since it's been 5 years since I took them (I took the exams even before applying for immigration, just to get them out of the way)

To be eligible for the first iteration of CaRMS in Quebec must you already have your medical degree in hand or can you apply in your final year of study? I would like to apply in my final year having written the MCQEE and part 1. Is this possible? Thanks
