fyi, the USMLE is harder than the PLAB, and i passed it, beating the US med school average, and i went to this school.
i don't know about any students who are from england, so that might be the reason, not that we aren't able to pass it. and so far everyone i know from my class has passed step 1. Last edited by wcb22 : 02-15-2007 at 03:30 PM. |

CAHSU graduates can sit for the plab. I have personally met a graduate from CAHSU who is currently an SHO ( Senior House Officer ) at one of the university teaching hospitals in the UK. Shes finishing her stint as an SHO and will be an SpR come summer. I was a medical student under her team for a while so i know, not that i was told.

the school has it's faults. i have been frustrated with them on many occasions. many people have been upset with their lack of involvement with our clinical rotations. man, i wouldn't have it any other way. i've set up almost all my own rotations, and they've been incredible. i've been to 4 different states by now, and i've been at some amazing institutions (NIH was the best, i got to know a lot of people from johns hopkins, and even got a letter of recommendation from one of them). now i'm in texas. and the best part is... no gaps in my training. no lost 2 weeks here, or 4 weeks there, just straight through. i love it. i'll graduate in 3 years, 4 months, 10 semesters, and no time lost. i have 4 letters of recommendation (though i did do some rotations in mexico, which i didn't mind because i speak spanish) from docs in the US, 2 from program directors, i beat the US med school average on all my boards, and i'm almost done. the school could do better about getting your loan money to you on time. that was frustrating. but at least we still have TERI, a lot of schools have lost it. i'm very grateful about that one thing. i'm still worried for the upcoming students, because i've paid up all semesters now. so i hope students behind me still have TERI in the future.

Cahsu
Hey guys.. lots of hate on this site..its a big deal going to medical school and picking the rite one. Im currently a student at CAHSU.. Tell you the truth its not all that bad.. A few of my friends and I have taken full advantage of what the school has to offer. Medicine is self taught in my opinion and if your ready for that you just need a ticket to the USMLE. which we got.. None of the carb schools are any good.. but the all give you a chance..we chose to go to cahsu.. its up to.. as far as the teacher had some reallly good one in CAHSU got lucky.. great prof from the UK (uni of kent..), Mayo Clininc, Couple of docs from NY.. So it wasent all that bad.. The US rotations offered are deff the best from most carribean schools.. As long as you do your work pass step 1 you'll be offered some great rotations .. we have rot at st vincents hospital in CT affilated with YALE uni, UCONN there #17 in cardiac outcomes in the US... Great surgery rot at soundshore afflited group assosiated with westchester medical center, got a couple rot in floridia my opino sucked but still US peds is good with a doc from univ of miami associated with miami's children (guys on TV on the shaq show wth the fat kids lol did endoscopys with him.. pretty cool).. only the 5th pathway guys rotate threw these we have them.. over all no complaints about rot. they are hard to get you have to do your work get threw step 1.. its all about becoming a doc stop bad mouthing each other and help make good physicans. if anyone needs any honest advice email me .. post and i'll try to reply ... Good luck to you all dont read most of this crap.. yo MONDAVI (the on the forum) change your name dude your the one that flunked out prob never studied stop messing it up for the people who want to try.. Im an example along with my friends that cahsu can help you become a doctor.. not there yet but god will will be there very soon.. once again good luck to you all..

Many of their students transferred to American Global University School of Medicine which is also located in Belize . . . newer school that gives a great medical education with quality professors and administration.
