UAG Excitement and Ego concerns

Posted 06-19-2008 at 05:08 PM by CP_Rev
I can't believe that I'm already blogging about a place I have yet to go to, but I'm already totally excited to go. I have just about all my things together, and like a dork I'm having trouble not wanting to look at the books already.

I'm just excited to be going to med school. Honestly though, I'm having issues with going to school abroad. In my mind, I think there is nothing wrong intrinsically with going to school abroad. You still get an MD and you can still eventually practice in the states. Unfortunately, there is a bit of ego involved which makes me feel like a bit of a loser for not going to a US med school. I guess that will either get worse or better as time goes on and I get over the ego thing.

Of course going abroad you won't get a competitive residency very easily (read at all most likely) but you will almost always get something if you put the work into it. Well that is all for now.
