quick question, is spousal abuse a mandatory reportable offence???

I thought it was not according to kaplan, but USMLE world says different if any one can cite something different would be helpful.

Thanks

you dont have to call the cops in the case of spousal abuse since the spouse is an adult - i would refer the victim to a domestic shelter

If you have a question, post it at the AUA forum. I can't respond to PMs due to Step 2 coming up very soon.

You may ask do you feel safe? and tell her about domestic shelter and other organizations that help.

Dont be too quick when answering behv'al science q. No, spousal abuse is not reportable (as mentioned above) but it might be good idea to look at the age. If its a senior, it would have to be reported so cant really rely on general idea, for example, "spousal abuse = not reportable", etc. I would expect usmle to do things like that.
