in a manic patient...are the seretonin levels elevated?
I know that low seretonin level is for violent suicide, so i was thinking maybe
they are low?

It's not just violent suicide; low serotonin is going to be found more in depressive patients in general and why the SSRI and tricyclic anti-depressants are so effective with depressive patients; Also there will be decreased norepinephrine..(tricyclic anti-depressants also work on the re-uptake of norepinephrine); Manic patients.. have not found to have elevated or low serotonin... but will have to read more to know for sure.. thank you for the question.
