What is nonmaleficence and beneficence?

Nonmaleficence--"do no harm"; the patient can proceed with the procedure if the benefits outweigh the risks.. whereas Beneficence is where the physician looks at the pt's best interest... which might have a conflict with patient's own interests... remember it's the patient's choice to decide what he/she wants to do...
