Standard Deviation versus error?














n=sample size; SEM=standard error of the mean; can't make the symbol for standard deviation (backwards D);
SEM=standard deviation / square root of the sample size, therefore SEM<standard deviation and decreases as n increases.. remember narrow or small SD = less error and/or better representation..therefore a wide or large SD is more error;
