Hello Emad,
I myself am an Australian medical student (who is a Canadian) for Canada you will have to write the MCCEE and QQ1 to be able to obtain a residency postion in Canada. The main problem is you have to be a Canadian citizen/Immigrant and there are very few spots left over. As a student in Australia I have done research on practicing in Australia/NZ...there would be no problems had you been an Australian Grad...Since you are not you will have a lot of problems getting in here..in fact it will be almost impossible, espeically under the new immigration rules. The other problem with Aus/NZ is that you don't have any post graduate training...ie you're not even trained as a GP....and I think if you are seriously considering these countries you are better to do your training somewhere else. Finally that leaves your only two real options the UK and the US. For the UK you will have to write the PLAB, and then try and work as a house officer. You can then try and secure yourself a residency position, though there is no guarantee you will get one. However in the UK they will recognize most degrees and I'm sure Egypt's will be recognized providing you pass the PLAB. After finishing your UK training you can then try and most to Aus/NZ/Canada but I warn you that you will have to write a lot of exams before they recognize your status. The US is another option, but most countries will not recognize US training because of it's short duration, so if you go there prepare to live there. Good luck |

I know for the USMLE you should take a preparation course before you take the exam. It is important that you get the highest score possible to improve your chances of getting a residency in the US. The most frequently recommended preparation course is the one by Kaplan.
As for UK, I do not know of any preparation courses. Does anyone know of some? You may want to try for Canada also. But be prewarned -- residency are very very competitive for foreign graduates. |

Couple of things..
There are prep courses for the PLAB in the UK....but I don't know if they have centres outside of the UK...google search would be the best way to find this out. With Canada your best bet to get there to practice there is AFTER you have completed post grad training from a country which Canada recognizes. |
