I met three med students under 19 (siblings). They were in their 3rd year at the time - 2years ago. The twin were 16 and their older brother was 17. In the US

I Was 19 Years Old When I Started Med School In Monterrey Mexico, At Universidad De Monterrey, I Started In 1983 And Finished In 1989. Now I Am 42 Years Young, And Practicing General Surgery And Generalist In My Private Office, In Monterrey, Mexico, And Now I Am Preparing For Usmle Step 1 And 2 Next December, To Realize My Dream Of All This Years To Practice In U.s.a , And I Feel That Ever Is The Time To Realize Your Dreams, But I Have To Study An Remember All The Basic Sciences, No Memorizing, Only Study Very Slow, An Repeat Reading If I Did Not Undertand A Biological Mechanism. In My Opinion With My Experience, It Is Most Importan To Understand The Ideas, That We Are Studying, More Than Memorizing. Mnemotecnics It´s A Good Manner To Remember Knowlegments.

Good Look To All, And Take The Target.

It is possible for students to start medical studies early in countries like Australia and the UK because most schools are undergraduate entry programs that last six years. In the US and Canada, you need to complete a minimum of an undergraduate degree before you can attend medical school.

i guess there are pros and cons to everything. looking back on it now, i don't think i would trade in my chem degree and the experience i got during university and the people i've met there for a chance to study medicine right after high school.... i was still going through puberty when I started university ...my patients would've laughed in my face everytime my voice cracked.

however, I don't want to be 80 when done either *sigh*
