New to this forum, need advice
Dear all,
It's really nice to have this forum to turn to for help!! I need some advice here from anyone who was in the same boat - I am a PR of Australia, and intend to enroll for a commonwealth supported place (if possible!!), but my undergrad degrees were done in a US University (University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign). If anyone knows how to convert US GPA to the 7.0 scale, I'll be most glad of it. So far, I've sent my transcripts to 2 different schools, and U of Melbourne told me it works out to about 6.47 / 7.0 but Flinders said it was around 5.9 / 7.0 I'll also welcome help on the admission process.... and whether the GAMSATs are as tough as MCAT.... I graduated from Engineering and Economics.... so.... not as afraid of the physics and Math portion of the GAMSATs. But still.... Thanks a lot guys! |

I can't be sure, but the difference between GPAs may be because of weighting... some schools (such as ours- Wollongong) weight your GPA and some do not. Also, you may find some schools add points for your postgrad study (eg Masters or PhD). This may account for the difference.
Either way, it is a pretty good GPA Cheers Lyndal
