    Elective Rotation - DrB, aussies

    Hey guys...
A very cool thing about my residency program is that they allow "away" electives. Many people do various things with these away electives like spending a month rotating in their native country (India, Phillipines), research at other US institutions etc. etc.
My buddies and I are thinking about doing a 1 month elective in Australia. In addition to experiencing a different medical system...we would enjoy the opportunity to be in Aussieland. I know your residency training system is structured a bit differently? If so, do you know if they allow MD's from US training programs to rotate through for 4 weeks on elective? We're all gonna be PGY-3's (internal medicine) by the time we do the elective and licenced in the US.
Lemme know if this is possible - can PM me as well
    thanks
    HG

    State?

I think the best thing to do would be to ask the hospitals directly..since they would be your best bet. Is there any particular state you would like to do your elective in?

Hi, i am an italian Medical School graduate, i work in Italy as doctor at the Airport and for night shift as GP, i would like to do the residency in Australia.
In your opinion is better to start with UK Foundation Programme and then to try to move to Australia after a year of work in the UK or it wouldn't help at all?
    Thank you for your help.

Is the UK Foundation Programme only for practicing physicians or also available for new medical graduates?
