Thread: Unlocking my iPhone??

Is it necessary to jail-break your iPhone to use your phone on the island, and if so can anyone unlock my updated iPhone? Which provider is the best to use on the island? Thank you for all of your responses!

You will need to unlock your phone unless you want to pay the international fees. or you can buy a phone there.

I used cellunlock dot net. there were a bunch of coupons so i paid a lot less then what they were asking... but i also have a bb on verizon, not an iphone on att. they will walk you thru the process... it wasnt too bad, but again, i dont have an iphone.

also, you will prolly void your warranty if you unlock it, just something to think about.

There's a windows version too, if you are unfortunate enough to need that.

Follow that, get a chippie SIM, and you're good to go. The only things you'll be missing are 3G (you'll only have WiFi internet) and visual voicemail.

Also, there is a backgrounder program which lets you run selected apps in the background. Along with that, install "insomnia" which will keep the wifi running while the phone sleeps : Perfect for SKYPE !! Get it ?

One piece of advice though, these softwares do not have guarantees, and your phone could die on you..so, make sure you keep regular backups, incase u need to restore/replace should something happen..
