Louisiana Electives
Hi guys
I was wondering who has done some electives in Louisiana? If you have, may you please say which ones at which hospitals? I've been trying to set some up, using that list of elective places given by the school, but it's been largely unsuccessful (no returned emails or phone calls.) I have managed to set up a FP in Lake Charles, and a psych elective in Shreveport, but that's about it. I'd really like to set some up in Lafayette. Thank you |

I did 2 electives at Tulane in New Orleans (Heme/Onc and Radiology). Then I did 2 in Shreveport (Path and MFM). Lafayette told me no, as did Houma and Baton Rouge. Just keep calling...rarely did my emails get answered, so it is better to get them on the phone.
Good Luck

Call the place you want electives and see what you need to do, then call the school to see what needs to be done to set it up, fill out all of the paperwork (and pay any fees) and be sure to show up early on your first day.
