Hello!
I will be starting rotations at Wyckoff on July 24th. I've been in NYC for the past few days scoping the areas out and trying to find a place to live for the next year.
Through a family connection, I have found a really great apartment located at 56 Pine Street (right in the Wall Street Financial District in Manhattan). This is a 1 bedroom condominium, but two can live in it by converting the living room into a bedroom (as suggested by the owner...many times even 3 people live in these apartments together). The building is located on Pine Street and the inside has been completely renovated. They are all new condos. This condominium is on the 16th floor, with an amazing view. There is 1 bathroom (large for NY), and a kitchen. There are 2 closets (one in the bedroom and one in the living area). The Wall Street subway station is DIRECTLY across from the entrance of the building. Many other lines can be taken from this location and then can be connected with the L line (which goes to Wyckoff). I timed it on a Sunday (off-peak time) and it took approximatley 40 minutes from the R line connecting to the L line and getting to Dekalb Ave where the hospital is.
The building has many amenities including a gym, pool hall, media room, doorman, and more. Really great building!
The rent is $2700. So, per person, the rent would be $1350/month. It is a very cost-effective deal for Manhattan since you are close to all of the NYC Manhattan action, in a safe building, have great amenities, and a brand new apartment. Heat and hot water are included, but electricity is not and would have to be shared. The apartment is also wired for cable and phone.
I am looking for a roommate to share this place, preferably a med student, with me starting on July 20th. I would like to sign the lease for one year, but am willing to discuss terms if you can only stay for a certain time period. I am very clean, easy-going, respectful of another person's space. Male or female is fine with me.
