AUA Pre-Med Program

Hi, I'm a senior in a Florida college. I haven't applied yet, but I will soon after I take my MCAT in January 2008. My goal is to get into the Fall 2008 semester.

I just wanted to know what happens if you are placed in Pre-Med 2,3, or 4? Could you still move on to the 1st year Medical Sciences immediately, or do you have to re-apply again for that?

What is the minimum amount of credits I need to apply to AUA for PreMed or Med program?

Aua

As long as you have a good gpa aroung 3.2 or so and have all the required credits for AUA you will be fine. you need at least 90 credit hours. they would only place you in the pre med semesters if you where missing some classes or didnt do well on certain subjects which was the case for me. i was place in the pre-modified 4 th semester and ill be in med1 in may 2008. I would call them if you had any further questions.

Instead of going into a lot of detail, it would be more productive to discuss this with you over the phone.

A couple of things:

1) AUA has no MCAT requirement
2) 90 credits/semester hours is the minimum requirement for placement into Med 1 (along with all of the Premed requirements fulfilled: Bio, Chem, OChem...etc.)
3) GPA is important but not the only factor for admission. Some students with higher GPAs are not accepted. Some students with lower GPAs are accepted.

Call for more details. I will look at some unofficial transcripts if you would like. Let me know.
