Does anyone have any nformation on North Baltimore Center? I wanted to know if electives done through this center are green. If someone has rotated through the center, please share your experience.
Thanks,

Thanks,
510 points I did a 4 week elective at North Baltimore Center. I heard it is in the process of being "green" through Howard University School of Medicine. I'm not sure if it has received that approval or not at this point. However, it is just an elective.
For me, I thought it was a decent place to start rotations. If you are interested in psychiatry, its will be a good experience. The downside to those who aren't interested in psychiatry is that you will have to spend 10 weeks in psych, since the 4 weeks can't count towards your core (at this time). I did hear some rumors about the possibility of turning into a core rotation, but I'm not sure when that's going to happen.
But, you do get a lot of exposure to patients. The teaching atmosphere in the center is also good. The doctors like to teach, and encourage students to engage with patients as much as possible
Thanks continental, I also found the same info that its not green and maybe will be green in future but not any time soon.
I'm not interested in psych, even if i do elective in it...i don't want to spend 10 weeks in it.
Did you start your rotations(3rd year) with an elective? And what is next for you?
GL
510 points yeah I started my 3rd year with the 4 week NBC rotation. I did my psych core at Sheppard Pratt (which is green book) right after my NBC rotation. I am doing another elective right now. my next core is IM at Harbor
I'll be starting Psych core at Sheppard Pratt soon. How was your experience there? Do we get hospital housing there.
Yeah, I was also up for any elective to start my 3rd year to save some time towards the Match. My only take was to have a green rotation.
Good luck with IM at Harbor.
