greenbook rotations and residency in Michigan

I contacted some residency program coordinators in Michigan. They said they did not have requirements for greenbook rotations. Does that mean someone can do non-greenbook rotations and still get into residency in MI? Since MI requires that you do greenbook core rotations to be licensed, can someone practice as a resident physician without a license? I'm a little confused. Can somebody please help clarify this for me?

Residency program directors don't license you. You need a temporary license to practice as a resident. I don't know what the requirements for that are in Michigan, but they are usually more lenient than for a permanent license.

The Michigan Medical Board is actually nice about answering questions, so call them. (If you do get through, can you also ask them how they feel about osteopathic rotations? I've always wondered but was too lazy to find out.)

Called the medical board of Michigan. The tempotary license has the same requirements as the permanent one regarding the greenbook rotations.

Sorry to hear. Did you happen to ask what they thought about osteopathic rotations like the ones we have in Grand Blanc.

About osteopathic rotations, they transfer me to another line. Left a message. No one has called me back yet.
