OSHA and HIPAA Online

Apparently, AUA's making a big deal about getting OSHA and HIPAA certified before starting clinicals. A friend of mine sent me websites which offer the course for a small fee:

OSHA: International CPR Institute (this was $20 for the bloodborne pathogen course)

HIPAA: HIPAA Training - Online HIPAA Privacy Training, HIPAA Security Training (this was $25)

I've been told that AUA accepts the certificates from both these places.

i'm just going to put this out there - I take offense to you saying that your courses were harder than mine when I went to the same school with probably the same professors. I worked very hard my 4th semester and didn't get anywhere near a 54 on my shelf exams. Also this another reminder that this is the clinical forum and not the basic science forum.

I'm sure you will deal with hipaa and osha after you take your step - if they're needed for 5th the school will inform you. Worrying about them now shouldn't be your main objective. Take your step, then come on the clinical forum and take heed to what others are writing - it's good to be prepared I agree, i did the same thing. The step is stressful enough without adding clinical rotations on top of it. Good luck.

I am an instructor and the director and a training center for my current organization. I'll be coming down for the Fall semester and will be happy to offer BLS, ACLS, PALS, and Blood-borne Pathogen classes and certification cards to AUA students transitioning into the clinical years or whenever AUA deems it necessary. This is just an early thought, but I'm throwing the idea out there...
