I am going to be in Chicago for the rotations until december atleast, hopefully longer if I can get some electives set up in Chicago. Anybody who has done rotations in Chicago where did you rent? I am looking in the Hyde Park area(via internet) as it is between Michael Reese and Jackson Park since I have rotations at both.

Prairie shores is literally across the street from michael reese and maybe a 5-10 minute ride to Jackson park. Rent is 650 for studio unfurnished and 830 for 1 bedroom unfurnished. ALot of medical student from other schools as well as residents from michael reese stay there. Minimum lease is 6 months. HOpe that helps.

What's the area around Michael Reese like? I've heard Jackson Park is a pretty rough area. I'll look up Prarie Shores, the price is similiar to the other apartments I looked up in the Hyde Park area...Woodlawn Terrace, Woodlawn Court,...etc. Did you pick a place before you got there? I find it hard to pick places just on the internet descriptions and pictures on websites since I've never done that before. If you used any of the sites rent.com or move.com did you find their pictures to be accurate representations?
