thinking of transferring to AUSOM for clincials

Hello, so I am thinking of transferring into AUSOM from SJSM for clincals, can anyone provide me information as to about the school rotations and how is the clinical program? Any feedback would help. Urgent info needed. Where are most of their clinicals done?

I was about to do the samethiing you were thinking of but transferring from a different "school". If you have your steps, you have a bit of a choice but if not, then you will probably end up in IMG central (Chicago). If I were you, I would strongly consider USAT or Avalon. USAT gives you the freedom to do rotations wherever you like and the tuition is $4900/semester whereas Avalon will let you do rotations only in Michigan, Illinois, West Virginia, Georgia, Ohio, or Arizona but as their tuition is steep -$9100-$10500 (estimated) with back to back rotations with virtually zero waiting time. All the best!

hey thanks for feedback. Where did you transfer to? I have not taken my step yet but would just like to start rotations does AVALON let you do that? In the end I feel as if its not the big major 4 all the other carib schools are the same. I want to transfer out by June. Any suggestions

Thats dangerous advice. Many of these so call accredited schools use 3rd party providers which are NOT ACGME nor GREEN BOOK. I am at AUSOM 3rd year now, all ACGME. Feel free to message me.

I heard the same thing, if these are 3rd party rotations you will not be eligible for residency in over 20 states and will not be eligible for licensure in many more. One school tried to tell me they had rotations at teaching hospitals but they would send me to a doctors office that had privileges at a teaching hospital and not a hospital that the school is contracted with.

Any idea how to be licensed in the UK if you did your rotations in Chicago and graduate from AUSOM?
