Hello! I am in the process of acquiring dual citizenship and wanted to find out the tuition fee cost for local student. I graduated from the US, but I was born in the Philippines. Also do you guys know if there's an age limit. I am a career changer, so I am in my mid 30's.Thanks

Wouldn't you still be considered a foreign student since you have a 'foreign' degree?

    Christine,
You might be able to avoid paying the foreign fee but you'll have to be in the local Med class. Fatima also has a section just for foreign students, mostly Filipino-American who plan on returning back to the states. If you want to be in the foreign class you'll have to pay the foreign fee.

What in the world is PAASCU acreditation? Never heard of it. On the bright side, if they can't get TitleIV they will likely keep tuition low. Less debt+less interest capalized=less stress.

PAASCU is a very important accreditation for Philippine schools and universities. It may not matter here in the U.S. but it does for them, locally. I'm guessing Fatima is a popular choice for foreigners because they can apply for FAFSA? It's a lot more expensive than other schools that have received better reviews. I heard the perks include removing some of the local-med-stuff in the curriculum and allowing prospective IMGs to review for the USMLE...that's about it. Based on the phone calls/emails I've made, there are other schools out there that are willing to work with prospective IMGs, as long as that candidate takes charge of his/her own medical education strategy. Prospective IMGs shouldn't expect local med school advisors to advise them re: how to become a successful IMG. Oh, there is a book for that, and it comes highly recommended...and costs over $400! There are used ones on Amazon at $150. Still very expensive.
