Thread: What should First Year MBBS students bring to Zhejiang University from home??

Hi there...any existing students please suggest what should new MBBS students at zhejiang uni bring from home? any suggestions at all starting from clothes to utilities...any smallest bit advice would be very helpful....like do we need to bring any set of formal clothes...or what type of shoes or sandals for rainy season...etc.

Hi there, I see that we have a new classmate!! Oh i thought we can check into the hostel as long as we reach before 3pm. Tt is what i hear, but better to confirm again. I might be flying in the day before registration, probably 12th. When are you all flying and have you all applied your visas?

I didn't apply fr the visa yet...i'll probably be flying on the 11th or 12th...and about checking in to the dorms, i got this mail from mr cai..."The dorm rooms maybe not available before the registration day .Students are suggested to check in on the registration day."

by "we can check into the hostel as long as we reach before 3pm" do u mean any day before 3 p.m.?

That like I am not sure. But best to trust Mr cai. Anw i think i will be staying a night in a hotel outside then check in on the registration day itself

ya...i guess i'll be doing the same...always safe to arrive at least one day earlier than the registration day...btw do u have any idea whether we need to book hotels before we reach there or can we just go there and get a hotel room?

Im not sure about booking hotels on the day itself. I heard there are alot of hotels around.Im currently looking into booking of hotels. will share more info once i have them

Hi I'm third year
there isn't any shopping malls within the campus. but there is small shops around . The campus is located far away from down city.
- you can check in to the hostel as soon as u arrive ( that's what I know )
about books , University sells books but it's in black and white , very good though .
and u can borrow books from the library as well but as early as possible before they run out.

Thanks a lot bro!! When we check in to the hostel, do we pay the whole year's dorm fee at once or just an amount at first? Can you also please let us know what are the registration procedures...i mean what do we need to do? And do we get all necessary things in the shops you mentioned??

hey again , I'm a girl. am not sure about the hostel 100%
but when u check-in u don't have to pay immediately , u can pay later like after few days
I pay the whole amount at once.

registration procedures sorry I don't remember very well since it was two years ago lol.
but I do remember that for first year students u will have to do health check up , apply for a student visa
that's all I remember sorry.

and yes I think u will find what u need in these shops and in the supermarket.
