List of Admission for 2012 Fudan University MBBS Program

Congrats to the Fudan Shanghai Medical College Class of 2018!

1. I think the TOEFL/ITLES requirement has become quite stringent, since admission has become quite competitive.

2. The university does not accept every student that applies, to my knowledge. The acceptance rate was quite high back in 2008, but has since become more competitive. The selection criteria is on the admissions website: mostly grades, admissions test, and interview.

3. We have 12 in our class now, and the other classes have around 25 students each. This adds up to about 100-125 students starting this fall.

4. I'm not sure of the exact number of professors in each department, but there are dozens in each department, but only a few are responsible for teach us. As we go into clinical courses, we have experts from each department teach their topic of expertise, as opposed to one general lecturer.

2. Does the university admit every student that apply ? If not, what other Selection Criteria of the university ?

3. How many students study at each class now , from first year to the fifth year ?

4. Do you know how many teacher respond for teaching at each department of the faculty , I mean pharmacogy , Physiology , pathology Etc.
5. At the end of this semester , do you still at the university , Can I and my son (now my son ,Thai student study at second year at university in China ) meet you at the university , troublesome your time not more than 2 hour , ask some more question ?

As far as I can recall, there is 2 semester breaks, am I correct?

Semester dates are usually given to us on little calendar cards in the spring of each year for the upcoming school year. It's also available on the Jiaowuchu (Teaching Office) website at http://jwc.fudan.edu.cn

The 2012-13 school year calendar is available in PDF form here: http://www.jwc.fudan.edu.cn/picture/...b33499fb90.pdf. (Note: this is in Chinese). Week 0 is for new student registration and students who need to retake failed exams from the previous semester. So for you guys, you need to be at school by 9/2 (Week 0) for the Fall semester, but you don't need to come til the Sunday (first day) of Week 1, unless you have retake exams.

We have two semester breaks, a winter one that runs from around Mid January til Mid-to-late February (this is different each year, and is based on the Chinese Lunar New Year), a summer one that usually runs from early/mid July til late August or early September. The later the Chinese New Year is for each year, the later school starts for the spring semester, and the later we get off for summer. Each semester is usually around 19-20 weeks in duration.

In addition, we have about a week off for National Day in the first week of October, and a long weekend around May 1 for International Labor Day. The other holidays are based off of the Chinese Lunar Calendar, and are announced on government websites, and posted around school before each holiday. These holidays include Mid-Autumn festival in September, Dragonboat Festival in June.

I see that you've been giving really helpful advice! I am currently trying to apply for the 2013 intake of the MBBS, however, the date format of the online registration page is not specified so I am unable to proceed with application. I have emailed the administrators but to no avail. Any advice on this?
Also, how has the experience of studying the English taught MBBS been at Fudan?
