Thread: Fatima "Special class" Clinical weeks requirements for US residency

Hello everybody!

Does anyone know if the 4 year program is enough for US to get into US residency?

What I mean is I know there is only 48 clinical weeks, which is the whole 4th year.

Im from Cali and I know we need 72 clinical weeks to do residency and practice in Cali.

So would the 48 clinical weeks be enough to do residency in the other states? OR do we need to do an extra year of clinical rotations for the other states as well?

The reason why Im asking is the 48 clinical weeks only covers core rotations like Gen Surg, Peds, Internal, Psych, Fam Prac.

you can practice in the US depending on each state's medical licensing requirements - you may have to visit each state's website, but someone has also compiled a list...somewhere...try googling or searching around the philippine med posts. i'm from nj, so i know my 48 weeks at fatima is enough. my classmates from cali are aware if they want to practice in cali they need to do extra weeks of rotations to fulfill its requirements.
