But, if you're from a western country, just count on it sucking. China's standard of living is way lower. You have to spend money to get what you're used to.
I got this comment on my blog: "Looks like they cant find any Chinese professors who speak english. Also, if you dont like indian-english (there is no such thing btw), try to into med school in america..but looks like thats a long shot for you." - Anonymous
Having finished a bachelors degree at Purdue University, I can tell you that it's normal to study on your own. My thought is that going to a Chinese university would not be any different. As long as the information is provided in the notes (powerpoint) and/or in the textbook, it's your responsibility to learn it. They shouldn't have to spoon-feed it to you.
The comment sounds like it came from a juvenille, but I'll entertain it by responding. The general consensus from what I've heard about Chinese professors is that 60% of the instruction is good. You don't come here strictly for an English medium, but because you want to be in China. All the information is provided, and the onus is on you to learn... But that's how it is in the States too. As to Indian-English... Have you ever met Indian people? They teach English in India, but it's their own version. Hence, Indian-English. It really is a thing, go meet some people from other parts of the world. As to this: "try to [get] into med school in america, but looks like thats a long shot for you." That's interesting, what did you mean by that? If you're referring to my lack of medical prerequisites due to me just having a degree in finance, you are absolutely right. It's not a long shot, it would be a zero possibility. But, you probably don't even know how it works here. But, like I mentioned, I wasn't even considering Southern Medical University, I was just visiting a friend, so the language thing would be non-factor anyway. I'll just chalk it up to that person being a troll.
